I build the surface using acrylic paint, collage papers, drawing materials, expressive lines, glazing, and textured marks. I may apply color and then remove portions to reveal what lies beneath. I might scratch through wet paint, attach translucent papers, soften an area, cover something that feels too certain, or introduce a mark that changes the entire composition.
