Things Are Unfurling Faster Than I Can Keep Up (And I’m Here for It)

“There’s a time for certain ideas to arrive, and they find a way to express themselves through us.” — Rick Rubin

I am currently deep in a book that, apparently, everyone in my creative circle has already read: The Creative Act: A Way of Being by Rick Rubin. I’ll be honest—I’m not usually a strong reader. But this one? I can’t put it down.

I’m only on page 55, and my highlighter is already running out of ink.

When Creativity Begins to Unfurl

There’s a concept in the book that has completely hooked me:

That we are vessels for creativity.

That ideas don’t belong to us—we simply have to be open enough to let them move through us… to let them unfurl.

And lately?

That’s exactly how it feels.

My brain is moving faster than my hands can keep up.

I’m noticing things I used to walk right past.Seeing beauty in the mundane.Feeling ideas rise up before I even have language for them.

And I’m starting to realize something:

Manifestation isn’t magic.

It’s attention.

It’s the willingness to look deeply enough to see the opportunities that are invisible to everyone else.

Five Years of Love, Anchor, and “Mad Artist” Energy

Speaking of things that were meant to arrive…. Today is my 5th wedding anniversary. 🥂. And I just have to pause here for a moment.

Todd—my husband—is my anchor, my best friend, and my biggest cheerleader through every health challenge, every wild idea, and every “mad artist” moment that takes over our home.

And let’s be honest… that’s a lot of paintings.

I couldn’t ask for a kinder, more supportive human to walk through this life with.

So today, I’m celebrating love. The kind that steadies you.The kind that sees you.The kind that says, “Go for it—I’ve got you.”

Happy Anniversary, sweet Todd.

And yes… May the Fourth always be with us. 😉

The “Not-So-Popular” Popularity Contest

Alright, let’s talk about the thing that made me hesitate. I’ve been invited to participate in The People’s Artist competition. And if I’m being real? I went back and forth on this.

Because it feels a little like a high school popularity contest—and I have zero desire to relive those days. But then a friend said something that shifted everything: “This isn’t about popularity. It’s about your art being seen by new eyes.”

And that?

That I can get behind.

So… I’m in.

And I’m inviting you to be part of it with me. Voting is free, and you can vote once per day over the next few weeks. If you feel called to support my work reaching a wider, global audience, I would be so grateful to have you on this journey.

(And yes… my internal drill sergeant would love it if you set a daily reminder. 😄)

When Inner Landscapes Meet Big Spaces

And then… because life clearly decided to hit the accelerator…. I’m also preparing for something really special. A curated selection of my work will be showcased in a brand-new, 5,000-square-foot contemporary home.

Let me just say that again for myself.

Five. Thousand. Square. Feet.

I’ve been invited to transform an entire level of this four-story home into a gallery experience featuring my work—pieces that explore inner landscapes, emotion, and connection. And I can already feel it.

These paintings are ready to take up space in a bigger way.

I would absolutely love to see you there—to share this moment, these works, and this unfolding season together.

Making the Invisible Visible

Rick Rubin talks about how the root of creativity is looking deeply.

And that idea has been sitting with me.

Because whether I’m looking at:

  • the mountains of West Virginia

  • the face of my husband

  • or a blank 36 x 48” canvas

What I’m really trying to see…

Is the invisible thread of joy that connects us all.

That’s what I’m chasing in my work.

That’s what I’m learning to trust.

And that’s what feels like it’s unfurling right now—in real time.

This Season of Becoming

Everything feels like it’s moving quickly.

Ideas. Opportunities. Energy. Growth.

Faster than I can fully name.

But instead of trying to control it…

I’m choosing to stay open.

To trust it.

To let it unfold.

And I just want to say this:

Thank you for being here.

You are part of this.

You are the community that helps make the invisible… visible.

With a joyful (and very busy) heart,
